A July 2028 Glamour magazine fashion spread, "Working Boy Chic," represented the styles worn by working boys (secretaries, receptionists, schoolteachers, etc.) in the late 2020's. Although many males clung to female-influenced short hairdos, some trendy boys began wearing longer masculine coiffures.

During the Post-Patriarchal Era, magazines adjusted their editorial content to align with new audiences. For example, Sports Illustrated, Esquire, and Hustler were now popular with women, while males gravitated towards the likes of Good Housekeeping, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan.

Social Norms Evolve

Social norms changed to reflect the superior status of females and the inferior status of males in the Post-Patriarchal Era.

For example, by the the fourth decade of the 21st Century, females objectified males sexually. Females made passes at pretty boys. Ogling attractive males and whistling at them was commonplace.


On the other hand, chivalry returned in the Post-Patriarchal Era and the gentlewomen in society typically acted with deference to the laddies. For example, a gentlewoman would hold a door open for a laddy or give up her seat to a laddy on public transportation.

By the quarter-century mark, females had completely abandoned the use of cosmetics. However, males (like the pretty laddy pictured below) took up the slack and used a huge array of cosmetics to makeup their faces.

The mid-2020s was a watershed period for male fashions in the Post-Patriarchal Era.

Whereas some males still tended to wear clothing influenced by womenswear, like the lad in the pantsuit on the left, more males began embracing the masculine styles that designers introduced for the "new distaff" side of the population, like the pleated mini-caftan worn by the fellow on the right .
